Lastly, I've also tried the beta version of Afterburner too, again, nothing. cfg file under the profiles folder, again with not affect. cfg file of Afterburner and agreeing to the EULA, and modifying the associated settings. I've (of course) tried the check boxes in the settings for "voltage control" and "voltage monitoring" to no avail. This extends into my testing on mobile GPUs, and desktop GPUs. Now, I've done my research and tried different things to unlock voltage control, but none of them seem to work. I use MSI afterburner, but I know that there really aren't major differences between Afterburner/precision-X because they're all based off of the same platform. I've definitely gotten the hang of general overclocking and stability testing except for manipulating the voltages on GPUs using Afterburner. One avenue that I have more recently been exploring is GPU overclocking. Unless the details/manual says otherwise. So I've been into PC building and gaming for quite some time now (since about 2014), so I feel pretty confident with my computer hardware skills. It really shouldn't matter which one you use. What you can also do is try your 780 GPU in the 2nd white PCI-E X16 slot and see how it does. I'll have a look through the manual and look around online and see what I find. But again, every board is a little different.įeyrom's Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition Like for example I can boost the charging for my Phone through USB but only if I install my ASUS AI Suite software. As far as "Turbo" or "Charging" extras, that is either a BIOS feature, or based on installed software. Sometimes they might still function as 2.0 ports without a 3.0 driver for those ports, but I can't guarantee that. I wouldn't uninstall USB 3.0 Driver, as those might not even work at all without that Driver installed. Originalmente postado por Feyrom:I also just read that USB 3.0 turbo takes lanes away from 16x slots? How would I disable this on my current motherboard? Would I just uninstall the USB3.0 driver?Įven still, it won't matter with only one GPU and no extra PCI-E cards that can eat up the lanes, like a PCI-E SSD for example. So after update and reboot, double check all the BIOS settings again. Just know that your BIOS settings may get reverted to default after applying such an update. If /ri3,20,99 works for you then u use VDDC_NCP4206_Detection=3:20hīut if there is a later BIOS update for your Mobo, I would try that too. If /ri4,20,99 works for you then u use VDDC_NCP4206_Detection=4:20h Saving that CFG file, and restarting Windows and Afterburner. Then added this to the Profile CFG file, under area The /ri4,20,99 did not work, I had to do /ri3,20,99 on mine. When I did what was detailed in your link: Which is odd since I have like a ton of EVGA GPU around here ranging from 400 series - 900 series and the 780 was the only one not unlocked. I've done some forum hunting (as you do on PC) and have seen some posts saying that PCIe 3.0 x8 is the same as PCIe 2.0 x16? Can someone confirm this? Will I see x16 if I change the PCie lane to run at Gen2?īut again I could not OC my 780 either until I unlocked the GPU Voltage, for some reason it was locked on that card. I'm going to bed, currently so I'll try these suggestions once I'm awake and back on my PC. Perhaps I should update my motherboards bios? I probably won't be doing that thing I linked since you mentioned that yours does the same thing. I don't really care or mind about the performance difference being negligable. So, my card is performing normally? How about the x8 3.0 thing? I want it to be x16. Originalmente postado por Bad-Motha:That is only if your GPU Voltage is not allowing to be changed. And if you ever toggle the "Force Constant Voltage" setting, system should also be restarted. But won't hurt to try it.Īlso, if you had to use CMD to unlock your GPU voltage, reboot before attempting to OC or play with the GPU any further. Once u unlock your GPU voltage, then MAYBE try the setting for "Force Constant Voltage" but with my experiences of testing various GPUs over the years, even newer/latest ones, this option never seems relevant. In MSI Afterburner settings, change to following: Above this it will ignore any OC for some reason. Now to OC Core and Memory, this would only work once I change PowerBoost to between 80 and 98. But that could be load on card, bus, etc. While I did unlock the voltage on this one, it flucuates on it's own anyways, so it doesn't stay put. However I just tested an EVGA 780 6GB SC/ACX I have here and it is all doing the same things as you say. That is only if your GPU Voltage is not allowing to be changed. It seems my video card is undervolting itself when at a FPS of 60 or above. Originalmente postado por Feyrom:Do you think I should try this?
